About this event

Systemic Approaches to Safeguarding Children (2.5 hour workshop)

This is an introductory session, delivered by systemically trained practitioners, to share with participants the core principles of Systemic Approaches and their application in safeguarding children contexts. This session will aim to demonstrate how systemic ideas can complement existing approaches to our day to day work and will include a combination of presentations, discussions and group exercises.

We only cater to practitioners who work in or are going to work within boroughs; Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham.

Learning Outcomes

• Creating a learning environment in which ideas, views and beliefs can be shared in respectful and appreciative ways.

• To gain familiarity with core aspects of systemic approaches and how they may assist in out day to day work.

• To critically examine how issues of power, difference and privilege contribute to thinking and actions in safeguarding contexts

• To develop an understanding of systemic approaches to assessing and managing risk with an emphasis on collaboration, rigour and coherence.

Please note this workshop will be delivered online via either Microsoft Teams or Zoom, unless the Covid-19 situation improves and we are able to revert back to face to face training.
